I wanted to use a test connection before purchasing an IPTV subscription. But they asked me to share my MAC address. Would this be a problem?

In the case of IPTV, even if you add the playlist link, that is, even if you do not share your MAC address, they still have a chance to access this data. They even see the channels you watch.

You start sharing your MAC address the moment you log on to the internet. The important thing is to know who is using the device with the MAC address. While people think they are following you, they may actually be following a friend or spouse. After all, all they know is the ID of a device that belongs to you.

If you pay for IPTV, the provider knows your name, MAC address, IP, and location. They can also see the channels you watch. The internet works like this. With a trusted provider, there’s no issue. With an unreliable one, problems are very rare.

If it's not safe, that's really bad—half the market knows my device's MAC address. They can see every move I make.
